You can achieve a deep state of mediation by simply letting the pod do all the work.
By creating a stimulus free environment, the pod helps you relax and heal.
The float pod, often referred to as a sensory deprivation tank, is a pitch-black, light-proof, and soundproof environment with water that is heated to 95 degrees, roughly the same temperature as the skin.
The float pod has 10″ of water saturated with 800 – 1000 lbs of Magnesium sulfate, commonly known as Epsom salt. This creates incredibly buoyant water for you to float on.
Inside, the pod has buttons to control the lights, the sounds, and an intercom in case you need assistance.
Once you’re settled, it is virtually impossible to distinguish what parts of your body are in contact with the water and which aren’t, tricking your brain into a “floating” sensation.
Not only is Floating great for your mind and spirit, but it is also great for your body.
Our float suite is a private room, equipped with everything you should need to float but feel free to bring what ever makes you most comfortable.
The float suite was built with our clients safety and comfort in mind. Extra insulation helps makes the float suite as sound proof as possible. The floor is textured, nonslip flooring to prevent any slips or injuries. And there is a grab bar to help you get in and out of the pod.
The Process
Our float sessions are either 60 or 90 minutes with a 15 minute buffer so you have time to shower, get situated, and prepare yourself.
Before you float, make sure you haven’t:
Arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment so that you can fill out the waiver and become oriented with the float pod.
Avoid any alcoholic or caffinated beverages 4-8 hours before your float.
Do not use any hair or body products containing coconut oil prior to your float as these products do not properly wash off and can cause contamination or damage to the float filter.
Refrain from shaving within 12 hours of your float to avoid any discomfort.
It is important to take a shower and wash your hair before you get into the pod (Do not use conditioner!).
Once you’re all clean you can apply A&D as needed, put in your ear plugs, and head straight into the pod in your birthday suit.
Once you are inside the pod, you can close the pod lid and adjust the external stimulation as you’d like.
Inside of the pod, you have total control over the light and sound. You can decide whether you want some stimulus or none.
There is an intercom button if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to make this as relaxing as possible.
Black Button – Intercom
Raised Button – Lights on/off
Flat Button – Music on/off
Find a comfortable position to lay in. You can lay on your back with your feet facing the front or the back of the pod.
Arms can be at your sides, over your head or across your chest.
Please no belly floating.
While you’re in the pod, just lay back, let your muscles relax and enjoy the experience.
After 60 or 90 minutes, water jets will turn on inside of the pod to signal the end. Turn on the lights to help you exit the pod and close the pod lid behind you.
After that, you can head straight to the shower and get ready how ever you are most comfortable.
The water from the pod is saturated with epsom salt and will leave a white residue on any surface it touches. Take care to not touch any of your personal belongings until after you have rinsed off all of the salt water.
We recommend taking some time after your float to relax before you enter back into the stimulus filled world.
Head to our Blue Room for some more peace and quiet. It is a dark, calm, and quiet seating area with space to meditate or read, materials to color or write, or what ever you are called to do.
We have plenty of complimentary water and tea for you to rehydrate after your float as well.
Then enter back into the real world with a new sense of calm and mindfulness.
